The Vermont Castings Defiant Freestanding Fireplace is a premium cast iron wood heater designed for large Australian homes, combining traditional craftsmanship with high-capacity heating and practical everyday features.

Capable of heating areas up to 370m², the Defiant offers long burn times of up to 20 hours, making it well suited to larger living areas and homes where sustained wood heating is important.

Its timeless cast iron construction is paired with convenient top-load technology, thermostatically controlled combustion and a swing-out ash pan for easier day-to-day operation. A reversible flue collar provides additional installation flexibility, while the cast iron griddle top can also be used as a practical cooking surface.

The Defiant is available in multiple finishes and door styles, including Black Classic Doors, Black Transition Doors, Bordeaux Enamel and Twilight Enamel.
